Ultimi 4 mesi-parte II/In the last 4 months-2nd part

e in occasione siamo andati a Genova, un po’ scetici sulla Citta’ dei bambini e pieni di aspettative per l’acquario. Pero come che c’era disponibile un biglietto combinato tra le due atrazioni, abbiamo scelto di andare in tutte e due sopratutto perche’ avevamo 2 giorni a disposizione.
and in this occasion we went to Genova, a little bit doubtful of “Citta’ dei bambini” and full of expectations for the acquarium. However since there was a combined ticket for both attractions, we decided to get them, especially that we had 2 days.

Alla fine la Citta’ dei bambini e’ stata una bella scoperta (vuoi perche’ siamo arrivati ad un ora alla quale la gente cominciava andare via oppure perche’ c’erano tante attrazioni che i bambini si sono divertiti) mentre l’acquario che avevamo gia’ visitato in precedente e’ stato una delusione magari anche perche’ siamo andati alla mattina quando era strapieno di famiglie e in piu’ una parte dell’acquario era chiusa.
At the end, “Citta’ dei bambini” was a pleasant discovery (maybe because we got there when others were leaving or because there were so many interesting attractions), while we were disappointed of the acquarium that we visited already some years ago (either because there was very crowded or because several areas of the acquarium were under renovation). 

La Citta’ dei bambini e’ divisa in piu’ sezioni in funzione dell’eta’ dei bambini: il cantiere     , la zona idraulica   , le tanne per i piu’ piccoli , il formicaio (non sapevo che le formiche hanno un cimitero che di solito e’ separato dalle zone dove vivono), lo studio televisivo, le bolle di sapone, la nave , area dove trasformare l’energia meccanica in elettrica, le bici con il dinamo, effetti di luce   , la parete per arrampicarsi ecc.
The “Citta’ dei bambini” is divided in age group areas: the yard, the fluids, the lodge for the youngest visitors, the anthill (I didn’t know the ants separate the cemetery from other areas where they live), the TV set, the soap bubbles, the boat, the area where you transform mechanical energy into electricity, the light effects area, the climbing wall, etc

 

Carnevale/Carnival

Quest’anno Elia mi ha chiesto di fargli per il carnevalle il costume da astronauta. Spesso disegna delle navi spaziali ed una volta il papa’ le ha costruito una nave fatta di cartone. Quando dava per mettergliela, Elia le ha chiesto di “legargliela per finta, se no avrebbe volato via e noi non avremmo potuto prenderlo”.
This year, Elia asked me to make him an astronaut costume for carnival. He likes drawing rockets and one day, when his dad completed making a rocket out of a cardboard, Elia asked him: “dad, please pretend only to attach the rocket on my back, as I am afraid that I might fly away with it”.

Tornando al costume da carnevale, un paio d’anni fa’ avevo comprato questo libro “Cute and easy costumes for kids” di Emma Hardy con cartamodelli di costumi da carnevale. Nel fratempo ho visto che il libro e’ stato tradotto anche in italiano.
Few years ago, I have bought  “Cute and easy costumes for kids” di Emma Hardy that includes patterns for carnival costumes. Recently, I saw that this book was also translated into Italian.

Penso che per una mamma di una femmina, questo evento sia piu’ facile da inventarlo: una femmina vuole essere una principessa, e quindi basta prendere un vestito adeguato. Mentre un maschio (o al meno Elia) un anno vuole essere cavaliere medioevale (grazie cugino Carlo) , un’altro anno un re , poi supereroe (grazie cugino Cesare)     , poi astronauta e chi sa cosa l’anno succesivo. Fortunatamente questo libro offre tutti questi costumi. A diferenza degli anni passati (quando Elia voleva essere un personaggio che pero quando arrivava a scuola, si vergognava davanti ai suoi colleghi), questo anno Elia era molto contento del suo costume. E devo dire che anche i suoi compagni erano un po incuriositi   , ed io contenta che non ho dovuto spendere 40 euro per un costume di plastica, irritante.
I think that the mothers of girls have an easier life when carnival approaches. Girls want to be princesses, so it is enough that you buy a nice dress and they are queens, princesses, Snowwhites, etc. While boys (or at least Elia) want to be a middle age knight one year (thank you cousin Carlo for getting dressed), the next year a king, then a superhero (thank you cousin Cesare for featuring) and who knows the next year. Fortunately, this book offers all these patterns. While the last years, when Elia would want a certain costume, he would be ashamed to get dressed and go to school, while this year he was very proud of his astronaut. And I have to admit that also his school mates were curious of his costume and myself happy that I haven’t spent 40 euros in some plasticky costume.

Quanto a Zeno, e’ ancora piccolo per voler traverstirsi in un personaggio ben definito (l’anno precedente e’ stato “dinosauro”), quindi le ho fatto lo stesso costume da astronauta. Come mi aspettavo, non ha voluto mettersi il costume, ma solo il casco (gia’ una mia sodisfazione).
But Zeno is too young to want to get dressed in a specific character costume (even though last year he was a dinosaur).  So I made him the same costume of astronaut. As I was expecting he didn’t want to put his costume on, but only the helmet (which was a progress already).

La cosa bella e’ stata che entrambi mi hanno aiutato a fare i caschi (ho usato un palloncino gonfio sul qualle ho incollato carta giornale-ho scoperto che la carta un po lucida di certi oppuscoli pubblicitari era meglio del giornale, dopo di che ho scopiato il palloncino, quindi collorato con i colori acrilici).
The nice part of all this workload was that both kids wanted to help make the helmets (I blew balloons, then glued pieces of paper-I discovered that the shiny paper of certain advertising catalogues work better than the traditional paper by giving a certain stiffness, then I broke the balloons and then colored with acrylic paint). 

La mattina tutto era pronto    per la partenza 3, 2, 1…  

That morning everything was ready for the departure 3, 2, 1… 

E cosi’ quest’anno abbiamo avuto capitan Elia e capitan Zeno piu’ sergente Tigre.
And so, this year we had captain Elia, captain Zeno and sergeant Tigre.

 

3. E per finire con gli aggiornamenti, un po di disegni di Elia. Mi piaciono per i colori vivi che usa e quindi gli condivido.
